There are two Wm. Youngs only one of whom was  married to Ann Watt ? One Wm. was born 1760. Is this the correct one?

Scotland's People has records of 45,514 William Youngs and 344 Wm Youngs, but you are in luck because only two of them married Ann Watts, and only one of them married an Ann Watt in 1794.

Without further information, it is not possible to say when or where this particular William Young was born.

What else do you know about him?







Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Well if my William Young is correct he was born 1760 Dunbar. But there is another William Young born 1774  who has been given the same wife and children on familysearch.org. with mother Jean Watt. I need to discern who is the correct father of those children and who his parents are. I have my William as the son of Peter Young and Helen Purves with wife Ann Watt.

The bapts I posted are to William Young and Ann Watt.

Given that a Peter Young is a Witness to Johns bapt and they name a Son Peter looks pretty conclusive to me.

Ok I see they had a William born 1774, Father deceased*.
Siblings Wilkinson 1770 and Isabella 1772 

Cant see a William bapt c 1760 to Peter/Helen?

Thanks I was getting to that conclusion also. I questioned my Wm. as he is 13 years older than his wife.
