1911 mistranscription help please.
« on: Monday 11 April 22 21:02 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone. Just spent the last 2 hours using FindMyPast and Ancestry to find my great uncle in the 1911 census. No sign of him at all so I think the names have been horribly mistranscribed. Wondering if anyone can tell me what he's been transcribed as please? Its driving me batty!

Looking for Arthur Charles Tooby born 1906 in English Bicknor. Hes the son of Walter Charles and Mary Jane.

Ive tried all sorts of misspellings and abbreviations but to no avail. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks.
David.

Not sure whether anyone else has done this - I've submitted a correction to FindMyPast.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

Vasquez109 : Just in case you are unaware of:

Forum - Forest of Dean Family History  (free just have to register)

https://forest-of-dean.net

Under Resources :  transcribed, is thousands of Gloucestershire Marriage Allegations 1747-1837 and Marriage Bonds 1730-1823.

There are 14 TOOBY's listed (some are 2 records for the same person, one being the Licence (which usually gives ages) and Bonds.    These date from 1792 to 1835.

Also : in the Parish Records, in the Advance Search, there is the ability to search for witnesses and there are 3 pages for TOOBY's

for eg.

 June 27 1893

Arthur TOOBY, aged 27, Bachelor: occupation: Butcher, residence: Ledbury, Worcestershire
Mary RUSSELL aged 34, Spinster, residence: English Bicknor

witnesses : Kate TOOBY and Walter Charles TOOBY

The banns for Arthur are directly after the banns for Walter Charles at English Bicknor.
