1901 Census: Edith Maria Crook

Edith Maria Crook's birth is recorded (Free BMD) in Wallingford, Berkshire in 1897.   Edith is linked to my research I but can't find her in the 1901 or a later census.   Free BMD does not record her mmn.

Grateful for help with Edith's early life.

Edith names John as her father when she married - she may of course have believed that if she's only ever lived with him

John has two sisters that I can see. Louisa b c1863 marries in 1893, so she can;t be  mother, and then Emily  b c1870 who appears to marry Q3 1897 in Hemel Hempstead - same quarter that Edith is born. If Emily were mother, it would seem a bit odd she didn't stay with her

My only source of information is Free BMD.  I don't have a Edith's birth certificate for 1897  or a certificate of marriage to John Collins in 1914

Thanks for your interst Pauline but I'm unclear about the connection between Edith Maria Crook born 1897 and Theresa Victoria Crook born 1907 and Uncle John in 1901.   

Thanks also Mabel.  Can you expand on Edith naming John (Uncle John?) as her father.   Who was Uncle John?
