George Graveson / Elizabeth
« on: Monday 25 April 22 16:59 BST (UK) »
Looking for information with regards to George Graveson's wife Elizabeth . They were married in Kendal I believe in Dec 1846. George was born in 1806  in Colton Lancashire to Thomas Graveson and Alice Kirkby. Trying to find out the maiden name of Elizabeth  from online sources if possible before ordering a BC .Thank you.

Why can't you get her maiden name from the marriage registration index?

Look on freebmd for the birth registrations for any of their children then use the reference to look it up on GRO online which will give you her maiden name

The marriage ref you quote only shows one Elizabeth on the same page so if it matches the births you know you have the right one

How can you order a birth cert for her?  If she married in 1846 she was born before civil registration

If EK was from Kendal, there are a couple of women with that name (both born 1816) in the 1841 census. But you'd need the 1846 marriage cert to confirm her father.

Did George die 1861?  Indexed as Gravestone on the 1861 census

Given Elizabeth was b 1803 - Kitching could have been her previous married name
