where to find marriage or birth record

Hello,
I am new to looking at resources for Ireland and have been finding some results on the Irish genealogy website, however I am now looking for a birth c1855 and/or the marriage of the parents which could be 1835 onwards.  It's the name of the person's mother that I am interested in.

I think it might be Irvinestown area, but not sure.

Any pointers on where else I might look?
I have been looking on ancestry today, but no luck.

Irvinestown was formerly known as Lowtherstown.
Civil registration of births & Catholic marriages started in 1864 and non-marriages in 1845 so for earlier dates you need to find church records (if they exist- not all that survive are online). Catholic parish registers for Irvinestown R.C. parish are online- baptisms starting 1846 but marriages only from 1851. If they were Catholic and you don't find anything you can try expanding your search to adjoining parishes.

the records I've found so far (relating to what I think is the same family) have been COI.

Amendment: "non-marriages in 1845" should read "non-Catholic marriages in 1845".

If your ancestors weren't R.C. the search for church registers is more complex.
