1820 baptism at Glazeley and Deuxhill
« on: Monday 23 May 22 22:36 BST (UK) »
I have a baptism of a William Stonyer that I discovered oroginally on the IGI website:

Quote
Name:                    William
Gender:                     Male
Baptism/Christening Date:       1820
Baptism/Christening Place:       DEUXHILL AND GLAZELEY, SHROPSHIRE, England
Birth Date:
Birthplace:
Death Date:
Name Note:
Race:
Father's Name:          John Stonyer
Father's Birthplace:
Father's Age:
Mother's Name:          Susannah
Mother's Birthplace:
Mother's Age:
Indexing Project (Batch) Number:    C01692-2
System Origin:          England-VR
Source Film Number:       992297
Reference Number:       - 2:TRNL5T

This is an old entry, however, and the new entry on familysearch now reads:

Quote
Name   William Stonyer
Sex   Male
Christening Date   11 May 1820
Christening Place   Deuxhill, Shropshire, England, United Kingdom
Christening Place (Original)   Deuxhill and Glazeley, Shropshire, England
Father's Name   John Stonyer
Father's Sex   Male
Mother's Name   Susannah
Mother's Sex   Female
Event Type   Christening

"England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N1PX-MGZ : 18 September 2020), William Stonyer, 1820.

The old batch references seem not to apply any more.

I have found a copy of the PR on FindMyPast, but only a transcript not an image, and transcriptions on GENUKI don't seem to cover 1820, only appearing to go up to 1812.

Were baptisms carried out at Deuxhill after 1812, and if so, where are the registers kept? Were baptisms registered elsewhere, Chetton, for example? If baptisms were made in 1820 at Deuxhill, are there any register transcriptions or images available online? I would like to try and find a primary source for this baptism that is less questionable than the record of familysearch or an FindMyPast transcript.

I've visited the archives in the past, but it's a bit tricky for me to get to the archives at the moment so was looking for alternatives.

Can you get to a Latter Day Saints family history library?
This record you have found comes from the Bishop's Transcripts.
If you click on 'Document information' on the page of the record, it gives you the film number 007566429, which is the film for the Bishop's Transcripts for Deuxhill and Glazeley.
Another way to find what films familysearch have for a particular place is to go to 'Search' in the menu at the top of the page, then down to 'Catalogue', and enter Deuxhill, you will see what records they hold for that place.
The parish registers for baptisms only go up to 1812 as you say, but the Bishop's Transcripts cover 1660 - 1864 for baptisms.
Unfortunately the film is locked, and you can only view it at an LDS library. (You can view many films at home now, but obviously Shropshire have said only at an LDS library).
You will see a little magnifying glass by the locked film icon, signifying you can search it, and indeed this baptism of William Stonyer comes up as being on it.
