Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for relatives of Royal Naval Reserve - Lieut-Commander - who died 28/9/1945 - buried Hoarwithy Churchyard.

The private memorial of the grave of Lieut-Commander Ernest Baker no longer provides adequate commemoration.  The Commission are in the process of providing a new headstone to mark his grave.

Probate Date 3 Feb 1948 Gloucester. To Marie Helene Rachel Baker (widow) and George Baker (Police Constable)

Ernest's marriage, 1933, Bengal India.

Ernest was born in Chepstow,Monmouthshire, 1884 & had 2 brothers, Arthur Campbell, 1887, & Austin Gwynne, 1900-1979

Ernest's son George Baker (born 1917) was living in Wallesey with his mother, Florence Annie, in 1921. On the 1939 register there is a George Baker (1917) & an Elizabeth Baker (1918) in Cheadle.

Have not found a marriage for George to an Elizabeth.

Will concentrate on Ernest's brothers
