Hi Sarah, my name is John Ford and I live in Perth Australia.
While researching The Ford line I Found that my grandmother, Gladys May Ford married Frederick Wood Bateman in 1926.
They had a son born in 1930, his name was Frederick Thomas Bateman. My father Arthur Edward Golding Ford is his step brother.  I am trying to ascertain if this was common knowledge in the Bateman family.     if interested.     regards John

Hi,
As far as I can see, the events you are referring to all took place in Derbyshire.
Birth of-
Frederick Wood BATEMAN May 1904
Gladys May FORD Nov. 1906
Their Marriage 1926
Their son April 1930

A boy named Arthur E G FORD, mothers surname FORD.
Born March quarter 1918.

Gladys would have been 12 years.

Thanks for the heads up there Comberton.

I'm guessing the 2 people who are the subject of the heading of the topic are descendants of your people , John.

We do not discuss living people in the forum and I have altered the subject line in this my post as they may be still living.

Welcome to rootschat  :)

As mentioned by sparrett Gladys May Ford who married Frederick Wood Batemen would have been around 12 years old when your father was born.

Do you have the details from the 1921 census for this family, if so could you please post them on here.
