BDM registration numbers for two McDonald births in 1923 and 1926

I am trying to find two female McDonald births in 1923 and 1926 on the New Zealand BDM Online site, but am having no joy at all finding them. I can find the births of the two older sisters in 1917 and 1919, to mother Violet (Irwin) and father Archibald, but I can find no trace of the births of the younger two sisters under either McDonald or MacDonald. I'm assuming at this stage that their surnames have been misspelled, but because the BDM Online website doesn't allow wildcard searching, it's proving to be more than a little frustrating finding them.

Silly question but as those years are less than 100 ago are the records available to view?

Actually no, that's not a silly question, the penny should have dropped before I asked it. What was throwing me was that there are post-1922 births showing, but a closer look shows that these are all stillbirths. So, as these were live births I'll have to wait a little longer.

Not sure if this is of help to you, but in the Letters of Administration file in the Estate of Archibald Donald McDONALD, died 1926, the third daughter (as well as her older sisters), is named.    Daughter number four is mentioned only as "en ventre sa mere" (translates as "in the mother's womb").
So the 4th daughter is born after 10 February 1926 (the death date of her father).

Daughter number three was Phyllis Marion McDONALD, aged 2 years in 1926.

It appears that she married in 1945 to Douglas Raymond LINES.

Yes, it was actually father Archibald's probate file that got me looking for the daughters. Unfortunately I then had one of those brain freeze moments when I went looking for the births of the two youngest, and forgot to think about the implications of the 100 year limit on viewing birth registrations. Father Archibald was one of the younger brothers of my great grandmother, and unfortunately died in an industrial accident involving a gravel crusher in a quarry on the date mentioned.

I did look briefly at our PapersPast website for any mention of "McDONALD daughter number four" ... for a birth notice / an "in Memoriam" notice for father Archibald / searched under names of mother Violet, and the older sisters, also.   Unfortunately, didn't find anything of help.
You may like to do a more in depth search of the papers ?

You may like to try the "ask a Librarian" service at the National Librarty of New Zealand for a newspaper look-up for a potential Death or funeral notice for (mother) Violet (Violet Irwin) McDONALD.

She passed away at Mosgiel on 13 December 1977 aged 93 years :
She is buried with Archibald at Otokia Cemetery, Silverpeaks County, Otago.

Have also just found in an online tree that 4th daughter was named "Christine"
"Christina"  - born on 26 July 1926.

Will check this further (a married name was included in "tree" info).
