Don’t know Rachel was in the isle of Man  during the divorce, have looked at the address there nothing found, my fathers brother was staying with his mothers sister on the Isle of Man for 1911 census

I suppose you have to rule out all the other Harry Shawcrosses.
And if none of the, seem likely candidates to be Harry Shawcross of Liverpool , then that one is more likely to be yours than not.

Births Dec 1900   (>99%)
SHAWCROSS    Harry        Ashton    8d   547

Births Jun 1902   (>99%)
Shawcross    Harry        Stockport    8a   24

Births Dec 1902
SHAWCROSS    Harry        Barton I.    8c   688
SHAWCROSS    Harry        Oldham    8d   640

There is a Herne Bay  Historical Society. An approach to them might be useful?

They have this publication

Thanks for your help will definitely contact the Herne Bay group.

I have the certificate from the shorthand competition which doesn’t give any added info

I have my fathers birth certificate and his deed poll certificate for legal change of name.
I have found him in 1921 census and 1939 register, will have to live with the gaps in his childhood and war time

Thanks again much appreciated
