Michael McCaul and Roseanne Dunne Thomas Street Bailieborough Shop
« on: Sunday 05 June 22 12:06 BST (UK) »
Hi again!

Being Roseanne is our only known ancestor that remained in Cavan, perhaps she maybe our link to someone out there to assist with further ancestral information. Roseanne, oldest known child of Hugh Dunne and Judith Monaghan of Lisnalea Bailieborough, married Michael McCaul in 1881 in Bailieborough. They had 9 known children; Katie b.1883, Lizzie b.1884, Patrick b.1886, Susan b.1888, Mary Anne b.1892, Hugh b.1893, John b.1895, Julia b.1899 and Michael b.1903.

Husband Michael died in 1918, Roseanne in 1933. The girls were involved in performing in the area and the children helped Roseanne continue to run the shop after Michael had passed. The following children went to America; Katie, Lizzie, Hugh, John (who also returned).

We believe Francis Dunne and Elizabeth Lockadin (Lochaden) of Lurgan, are Roseanne's paternal grandparents, with Peter Monaghan and Margaret Smith of Threecarvagh Knockbride her maternal grandparents.

Any ancestral connections would be welcome.

Many thanks

Thanks for posting the links for others and yes cemetery details also.

An update this morning; I have located a DNA match confirming Peter and Margaret Monaghan as our direct ancestors.

Could this be Hugh in 1901 census, Lisnalee, age 75? Wife listed as Julia, age 60.

Hugh's death, 1910 Lisnalee, Gr daughter Susan McCaul present at death
