Thanks so much all, just love this rootschat. Need to spend some time looking through all this, such a lot to go at, but my initial reaction is that the other trees have taken an easy root to find the correct ancestry.

I looked at one tree and it claimed Richard died in 1841 - no death reg I can see on the GRO site!

Ray, have you been working backwards with John, ie death, children, marriage etc. Do you need any info on his later life?

Osprey, I don't know if Richard died 1841 (after the 1841 census that is) it is something that I want to follow up.

Johnhood, would welcome any assistance but I have John Ennis marrying Elizabeth Brown in 1866 and all the subsequent census information after that. I am tracing son Willie Ennis who eventually ended up in Wales. His son Lewis John then married Alice M Davies who are the grandparents of the person I am doing the tree for (my great niece in fact). It is just the right Richard I am looking for - he is named as Johns father on the marriage to Elizabeth Brown.

What occupation does John's marriage to Elizabeth Brown give for his father Richard.

Osprey, that is one of the problems I have is that the 1875 death date relates to tree's that I have some issue with. It might just be me but these tree's don't have the same 1841 census for John and Richard.

Johnhood, not Johns sister Elizabeth, it is his wife Elizabeth. Though they did not marry until 3 years later. Thanks John
