trying to find anything on willie mc leish.
in the 1901 census he is down thus.
rookery road handsworth.
walter evans 60
elizabeth        54
maud             20
marrian          17
 willie mc leish 7 born handsworth
cannot find his birth or what happened to him any help or ideas please.

What's his relationship to the Evans?  What is his relationship to you?

According to the census he was adopted, noted as born Handsworth.

yes thank you. i dont know what relationship he is to me i only have him on this one census return. there were no mc leishes in the evans family so i wonder if he could be the  child of one of the sisters and being un married used his fathers nam they were my great aunts my grandmothers sisters. i know three of them moved to scotland to live.

The 1901 has a Lucy McLeish born 1884 B'ham working as a servant in Handsworth.  Could he possibly be related to her?

She married in 1910

Here's the 1891 ref for the McLeish family.  Note the 2 youngest children were b Handsworth although the family were in Birmingham - Piece 2399 folio 118

Looks like mum Elizabeth died 1893 aged 43
