Bucke Coat of Arms
« on: Sunday 19 June 22 08:57 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anyone has seen an image of the coat of arms of the Bucke family of Westwick, Cambridgeshire, the blazon of which was as follows:

Vert, a bend between two bucks at gaze Ermine, attired Or

Many thanks

Here you go -

On the face of it, the blazon "Vert, a bend between two bucks at gaze Ermine, attired Or" is simple and straight forward. But, as can be seen, not the best of designs. The two Ermines cannot be drawn to the same scale, and a lot of the detail is smothered by the fur. This is why, we see so few animals coloured in a fur and so many inanimate, or inappropriate objects are.

Thank you very much Chas, it is great to see a picture of the arms of this family, which is ancestral to my wife.

While I appreciate the difficulties with the two bucks, I think you have done a great job.

Thanks again for taking the trouble to do this.

Regards
Robert :)
