Hello all,
I'm not really sure what I'm asking for here, as I have a tenuous link further down the line and the story starts south of the border in South Shields.
I have found Thomas Gibson who was married to Isabella Hogg in 1797 in South Shields. They went on to have several children - I have found baptisms of two of them - Andrew 14/07/1806 and Jane 11/01/1803. These took place in the New Presbyterian Church in South Shields. I cannot find a baptism for daughter Isabella Gibson b.circa 1801 South Shields - she is potentially the mother of George Gibson, who was baptised in 1823 - my 3xGt Grandfather.
Thomas Gibson and Isabella Hogg had the following children born in South Shields that I know of:
Janet Gibson 1799
Thomas Gibson 1800Isabella Gibson 1801
Jane Gibson 1802
Andrew Gibson 1806William Gibson 1809
Margaret Gibson 1814
Anthony Gibson 1816
John Gibson 1821
The siblings in bold were living together, unmarried, between 1841 and 1861.
On Jane's baptism record, it states: Jane Gibson, born December 14th 1802, baptised January 11th 1803. Daug of Thomas Gibson a native [of] Innerl[e]ithen by his wife Isabella Hogg a native of So Shields.
Which leads me here. Thomas Gibson. Native of Innerleithen.
Any information about him would be great, just in case.
A DNA match would be even better!!
