Hi tootsiepie,

Welcome - great site this.

If no one else is able to help with a lookup for Prees - I can have a look for you in Whitchurch Library, which has the 1841 census just for the Whitchurch area - which includes most of Prees.

Trouble is it is not indexed so takes a bit of time to go through - but will do it sometime in the next few days.

Cheers
Keith

Hi Keith, Thank you so much for the welcome, and for the offer of the look-up.    It would be just wonderful if you found William. I have him and his own wife and family in the 1861,1871,and 1881 census.(Staffordshire)   His eldest son was called Daniel, hence my suspicion his father might have been a Daniel.  My direct line comes through his son Daniel,  who eventually came to Scotland.

I am hoping that William would be a young enough age to still be with his parents in the 1841 census.

Please take your time, there is no rush,  he's not going anywhere. ;)

Hi Tootsiepie,

Shrewsbury Street, Prees

Daniel Reeves, 40
Ann, 45
Ann, 20
William, 10
All were born in the county.

Sadly I cannot make out the occupation for Daniel

Hope this helps though
Allie

Hi Allie, Thank you very, very much for the look up, it is most appreciated.   I think this must be my William.  Throughout all census he was consistent with the birthplace of Prees.  A holiday in the area might have to be arranged :D

Keith was right , this is a great board. Thanks to both of you.

Hi tootsiepie,

There - told you it was a great site!!   ;D ;D

Anything else in the Whitchurch area - (where I live) - parish records and graveyards - my specialist subject!!

Have a look at the Shropshire board for the details of "Lookup Offers"

Keep asking - in the end you start to answer some yourself, when you find your own little subject.

Cheers

Keith

Hi Kieth, Thank you for the offer, and I am sure I'll get back to you and take you up on it.    When I get back from work tonight,  I'll  study what I've got and where I'm going from here, ::) then I'll have a good look through the rest of the 'look-up' offers.
