Hi Keith, Thank you so much for the welcome, and for the offer of the look-up. It would be just wonderful if you found William. I have him and his own wife and family in the 1861,1871,and 1881 census.(Staffordshire) His eldest son was called Daniel, hence my suspicion his father might have been a Daniel. My direct line comes through his son Daniel, who eventually came to Scotland.
I am hoping that William would be a young enough age to still be with his parents in the 1841 census.
Please take your time, there is no rush, he's not going anywhere.
