There is a story in the Dumfries and Galloway Standard 14 Feb 1942 about a Mrs M Welsh of Carlisle who died in an explosion in Scotland, don't know if that would be the same lady?

This seems to be the story we've been seeking ,though they seem to have the name's mixed up,the M Welsh was her daughter margarita who worked with her and travelled in the ambulance with her ,

Great tone able to tell the story

Unfortunately being wartime they would not publish many details - the same details were in national papers as well: the Daily Record added: "At the factory yesterday afternoon the under-manager would give no details to the Press and at the hospital no statement could be made." I'm sure there will be documents about the explosion somewhere, but they won't necessarily be released to the public yet.

During the two world wars there was a very large munitions factory in Dumfries. It may be worth
contacting their museum to see if they have any records. Just Google Devil's Porridge Museum.
Had a look on S.P. on her death records  for 11 Feb. Time of death was about 11pm that night
on way to the infirmary.
If you would like a copy of the death record send me your email on a personal message.
