Great Grandparents Missing on 1921 Census
« on: Wednesday 29 June 22 16:35 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

I'm trying to track down my great grandparents (William Henry Kirkpatrick born 1893 and Agnes Kirkpatrick born 1894) on the 1921 census and they both appear to be missing. I've tried all the usual tricks including using name variants and being as vague as possible with search terms and neither of them are showing up anywhere.

I've found their four-year-old daughter living at the family home with her paternal grandparents and a collection of aunts and uncles but no sign of her parents. According to William Henry's naval records, his last date of service was the 7th of June 1921, less than two weeks before the census date.  Part of me wonders if they could have gone away somewhere to celebrate but was that really the done thing back then and I know they were rather poor to be leaving the country?

Any suggestions about what else to try?

Yes, that's them. Thank you!

No idea why that didn't come up earlier. Now to figure out why they're at an address that's never once come up before!  ::)
