Can anyone help me find the link between a family member and the Stephenson (rocket) family. I know a link exists as great grandmother received an annuity from the estate but I can’t find it despite searching the Stephenson trust site etc. The link is to Elizabeth Stephenson b. 1836 West Auckland, d. 1901 Witton Park.

I believe it was a Joseph Stephenson, as I can’t find other records.

There is an 1841 census record for an Elizabeth Stephenson with parents James and Ann.  Birth year transcribed as 1836.  James is an Ag.Lab.

Residing at Todhills, Auckland St Andrew, Auckland, Durham

I'll see if I can find a baptism for this Elizabeth.

I can only see one Elizabeth Stephenson of the right age from West Auckland in the 1851 census and her father is James. At Todhills.

Baptism 27 March 1836 at St Helen, Auckland: Elizabeth Stevenson daughter of James & Ann, of West Auckland.

Many apologies, I lost a generation there, so sorry.   I have a James who married Ann Parker as her parents. Beyond that I found James father might be Joseph Stephenson but by then we are back to 1775 and I’ve not found a link to the rocket people.  I have looked at many siblings of George and cannot find anyone who lived in the Witton Park area.
