This is a long shot but I am looking for the son of Randolph Charles Smith and Winifred Margaret Smith nee White. His parents are Welsh but in 1939 they were living in Birmingham with her parents and no mention of anyone else. That is all the info I have, like I say its a long shot  ???

Thanks in advance should anyone find anything

Alan

Welcome to rootschat

I see that Randolph and Winifred married in September qtr 1934.  I cannot see a birth registration that would fit your query between the marriage and late 1939.  Are you sure that he is no longer living as we are not allowed to post information about anyone likely to be alive

Welcome to Rootschat

Parents married 1934 & as you know - they have no children with them in 1939.  P….. may have been born after 1939 (unless you know his actual birthyear) & may therefore still be alive.

Another possibility is he may have been evacuated - if you have his actual birthdate you may be able to find him living elsewhere but only if he is now deceased.

Thank you.

Randolph Charles Smith b 17.2.1911 died 1977 Newport Gwent

Winifred Margaret Smith b 2.5.1910 died 1986 Newport

From 1939-1955 there is no match for a birth for P.

Where did you get the info that they were his parents?

Randolf and Winifred are my wife's grandads sister and husband, she can recall visiting them and their son. I'm now wondering if he was adopted or fostered.  ??? ???

As Randolph & Winifred had no children by 1939 it's possible they either fostered or adopted him.  If he was adopted - I would have expected him to be mentioned in both of their obituaries.  If he was fostered - perhaps not

Obituaries, now there's something I hadn't thought about
