St Thomas, Virgin Islands BEST PLACE?
« on: Monday 25 July 22 15:18 BST (UK) »
Sorry if this is posted to the wrong area.

I am looking for burial details on Ian Victor Major 1916-1973, a retired major in the Royal Marines.  He was a British National living at The Yacht Haven, St Thomas on the Virgin Islands. At the time he was married to Cynthia Sophie Major.

I know he died 23rd July, 1973 but can't find a burial location.  Grateful for any suggestions please.

Thank you

Mike

All the newspaper articles about his death, state he was found stabbed to death Friday, Nov. 30, 1973 on St Thomas in the Virgin Islands.

Thank you for your reply. I wasn't aware of his death by stabbing. I am grateful. Could you link me or provide a cutting please? I haven't found this fact, in my newspaper search.

Thx

Mike

Other articles mention, beside his home in St. Thomas, he also had a home in Switzerland.

As British born but St Thomas resident, would there have been a special or usual place to bury a British person on the island in 1973? Perhaps around Charlotte Amalie?

Struggling to find a resting place for Ian Victor Major 1916-1976. I would welcome suggestions.

Thanks

Mike
