Trying to trace  Parents of my Gt Gt Grandfather HUGH KIRK born c 1803 and confirmation of his marriage to MARGARET HINCHCLIFFE at Sheffield Cathedral 9th Sept 1824. He was buried 21st March 1861 at St Johns Parish, Park, Sheffield.
Also any information on his possible Father HUGH (HEW) KIRK born c 1778 buried 29th July 1814 aged 36 (Soldier I believe) at Ecclesall All Saints Sheffield.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I did find a marriage for a Hugh Kirk and Lucy Foster in Rotherham 17th April 1797 via IGI, which is about the right date, but couldn't get it confirmed by Rotherham registers. So I put it on hold, until I could perhaps visit Rotherham. Thanks again for your prompt reply and your interest. Pam
