What happened to german POWs on operation with the SOE after WW2?
« on: Saturday 30 July 22 04:46 BST (UK) »
I was wondering if anyone knew what happened to German POWs (Called BONZOs by the Special Operations Executive) who were involved in behind the German lines clandestine operations, once the  war ended? Would they have been sent back to POW camps and then released with others in 1947/8 or could they have been sent home immediately after the war?
I have one SOE service record, ex the National Archives, but once the war ended and his next proposed operation was cancelled as a result, there is no further record of what happened to the man
