Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for relatives of Lt R C D Firth - South Lancashire Regiment - died 21/12/1914 Seaford. Lewes District. East Sussex.  Buried Bord Buie burial ground.

The private memorial marking the grave of Lt Firth no longer provides adequate commemoration. The Commission are in the process of producing a new head stone.

In loving memory of RICHARD CHARLES DUNDAS FIRTH Lieut. 9th South Lancashire Battalion son of the late CHARLES HENRY FIRTH Riverdale Sheffield at rest 21st December 1914 aged 36 years. Died when regiment was in Eastbourne from unknown causes. This was before South Lancs 9th went to war front.
