Gweneth Sockett - mystery. Can an assumption be made? Solved.
« on: Tuesday 09 August 22 16:27 BST (UK) »
My Great Aunt Gweneth born 1893 in Hereford - 12th and last child of Joseph and Elizabeth Ann (ne Manthorpe).
Birth March Q Vol 6a Page 492a
She is shown on 1901 aged 7 with the family - RG13 piece 2428 folio 76 page 3
Both parents have died by 1907
There is no sign of her on 1911, I have checked all living siblings and she is not with them.

BUT
In 1913 a Gwyneth Sockett marries a Francis Daw
This lady in 1939 gives her dob as ?/May/1893.
I cannot find a birth for a Gwyneth Sockett that year.

Can I safely assume that they are one and the same?

Any thoughts?

Thank you all for your help in clearing up this mystery.
It looks like Gweneth and Gwyneth are the same person.

Cas
Unusual surname but they didn't have much imagination when it came to forenames.
I have 4 named John born in the same quarter 2 with parents with the same names.  ::)

Comberton
I made  a note of this family. By 1939 there were 5 children.

Thank you all once again
