Hi, sorry to derail your conversation. I'm new here and I was just wondering if any of you would be able to give me some insight as to why my posts aren't being approved please?
It was a post in the forum for deciphering handwriting.

I'm not sure what you mean by pink, but I can see my post in the forum list and it has "(Awaiting approval)" next to it.

That was what I was referring to, it shows up pink on the list as you see it. The rest of us don't.

It's awaiting approval as Admin/Moderators have to check that it abides by RC rules (copyright, etc). It happens to all of us.

It should come up on the board in the next few hours or tomorrow.

Sorry to be so impatient, I'm just very curious about what the handwriting says.

It's the stated nature of offence for a 1 month sentence to wandsworth, and to my untrained eye it says "big time onion growing", which I'm reasonably sure wouldn't have been a reason to sentence someone to a month in prison in the 1860s haha

Might the fact that it was your first post have something to do with it? Occasionally scammers join. They make 1 post. A moderator usually notices or someone reports it, and it's quickly dealt with. I saw one the other day, with a pink warning attached.  RootsChat has several rules to maintain security. It also has strict copyright rules to comply with UK law and with terms & conditions of subscription websites.

Th problem was that ghallen hadn't realised that image attachments are checked by Sarah before they are opened on the photo boards.

Ghallen had put her original post, and I had answered,  on the Gallery thread on the ToTs board. This  conversation has been moved from there.
