Ann Bray's death
« on: Monday 15 August 22 22:35 BST (UK) »
Kia ora

I have these Brays and am hoping to find the date of Ann/e's death.  His second wife appears in his 1577 will.  The only one I can find on Freereg is someone in Cowfold, but quite a distance from Ashburnham.

Any help appreciated.

nga mihi nui (very best wishes from grey Aotearoa)

Depending on the age of Ann when John died, she may have remarried.

What was Ann's maiden name?

When & where did they marry?

Was she single/widowed?

How do you know she married the widower John as you have no info. on Ann who your query relates to but plenty of info. on everyone else.

I'm not understanding what's meant in this sentence...

"Anne Bray died       ll registered at St Peter, Ashburnham, East Sussex"

South Uist, Inverness-shire, Scotland:- Bowie, Campbell, Cumming, Currie

Ireland:- Cullen, Flannigan (Derry), Donahoe/Donaghue (variants) (Cork), McCrate (Tipperary), Mellon, Tol(l)and (Donegal & Tyrone)

Newcastle-on-Tyne/Durham (Northumberland):- Harrison, Jude, Kemp, Lunn, Mellon, Robson, Stirling

Kettering, Northampton:- MacKinnon

Canada:- Callaghan, Cumming, MacPhee

Thanks for responding, I have no more info than I have sent about Ann.  And I have no idea where I got the information from. His will does indicate his wife's name was Ann. And I am pretty sure I have the right will.  I do have the marriages in Sussex from that time but no information on her there including a possible second marriage for her.

Quite possibly from Ancestry which I don't have access to at home.

Apologies, I shouldn't have left this in:

Hi
From the new images of the parish registers on ancestry, from both East and West Sussex.
They also have images of transcriptions held at ESRO
