Also as an aside, Henry Houghton was born 15.8.1873 died 1940 aged 66 in Stepney. He married Catherine Tanz in 1898 and had at least 2 children who appear with their parents on 1939 register.

Had to smile. If your looking for Charlotte Meek nee' Houghton in 1939 she is transcribe as Charlotte MILK on Findmypast, Ancestry for once have it correct.

I did a mock up tree for Thomas mmn Smith who I had found his line goes back to Sir Adam de Hoghton, knight of Houghton 1469-1489

Curiosity got the better of me and I spent another credit. I presume this is the burial of Thomas' first wife, Sarah Ann.

I was curious about the date of Sarah Ann's burial, given this baptism below. I can't figure out who this family is. Did Thomas and Sarah Ann have another child, in addition to Lilian? There's no birth date recorded on the baptism record.
