On Michaels marriage record in 1923 he lists his address as 38 Hamilton St Dublin & Occupation as Merchant. I am wondering the nature of his business. Thank you for any information

I thought that too re her occupation.

The only entry I see for Michael Harnett in 1924 is:
Michael Harnett, dairy, 18 Parnell Street.

It is the same in 1930 BUT there is this one in 1930

Harnett M.J draper 164 1/2 Capel Street

When I search for M J - there are the same later entries

It's the opposite side of the city, but a possible match for Michael's business from Thom's 1925 : 164 1/2 Capel Street, Harnett, M.J., drapery

Looks like his father Humphrey is still shown at the Hamilton Street address in 1925, possibly the family home, looks all residential, still does.

Mother Esther Harnett died 1940 of 164A Capel Street

Esther is buried in Glasnevin , no sign that I could find of a death for Humphry, but there's a likely burial in Glasnavin age 60 in 1929

Thank you to everyone for all the helpful replies. As mentioned Michaels wife was Eileen Wall her occupation Drapers Assistant on her marriage record to Michael  so perhaps worked in the business .
