Johnson baptisms between 1782 & 1796
« on: Wednesday 07 September 22 22:00 BST (UK) »
Hi
Looking for some help please with a knotty problem.
I have a Dennis Wells baptised in Haddenham/Chatteris as daughter of William and Mary in a Quaker birth in 1763. She married William Johnson in 1782 in Warboys and they then went on to have several children in Hemingford Abbotts: Elizabeth (1796-1805), Mahali (1797), Thomas (1801-1801), Dennis (1803-1804) and Rachel (1807), before Dennis died in 1824 (aged 61) and William died in 1838 (aged 79).
So Dennis would have been 44 in 1807 and unlikely to have any more children, but my problem is that there is a big gap between marriage in 1782 and first known child in 1796 of 14 years. I have tried casting my net wider than Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire and came up empty – help please!
Helen

Thanks for the suggestions, but cannot claim them yet as cannot prove a connection.
