Thanks, RJ.  I think it confirms what I had suspected  -  that the [mis]information at Ancestry is a complete and total red herring.  They have him as the husband of Dorothea M. Childs ['Myrtokleia'  -  my poet, speakeasy operator and political radical from San Francisco] but this is almost certainly  not the right O'Connell.  Back to the drawing boards.
