Family can be found 1841 -1881 he is a butcher throughout.

Additional children in 1851. John age 17 not with family in 1851 working as a servant for a miller nearby area.

Number of trees have this family but not any sources to confirm any info.

Happy hunting  :)

I think I must rejoin ancestry if you ve found john jenkins on various trees😊

I was told there was a mill in esghairdawe associated with the family. Wed assumed one of the ancestors had been a Miller. But it's more likely to be your find.

Theres a good description of john in the book I've mentioned above and I'm wondering what caused his limp. The author says that john travelled miles in his horse dealings. I'd thought by foot but it seems more likely he rode. Apparantly he often covered 12 miles in a day.

Thank you Cas for your interest.

Excited to think I might be able to communicate with more cousins.

Next step DNA I think.

This is the 1851 he is working for David Williams age 34 & wife Mary (nee Evans) at Llansawel Mill, cannot find a family connection.

1851 - Piece: 2471, Folio: 22, Page Number: 18
Llansawel Mill, Llansawel

John Jenkins, 17, mill servant, Llanwenog, Cardiganshire

John & Eleanor can be found in census after marriage 1861-1911. Eleanor dies between 1901-1911 as 1911 he is a widower.

Census can be found on family Search if no access. BMD from 1837 at FreeBMD, pre registration at FreeReg if records available.

Good luck with the new connections, but would verify with own research as those trees are not well documented, those I viewed did not have 1841 that connects to John as son, but there is a baptism, see reply #10.

There are also some family pics on some.

I know about inaccuracies in trees. Someone nicked a photo of a beloved aunt of mine and had her perched on their tree. Absolutely no relation. Made me check everything..

But your work is so helpful.  Thank you.
