Would appreciate your help dating this photo of a man from Illinois

This came from a box of tintypes from a relative who has since passed away. The people I have identified have all been from central Illinois. Any help (date of photo, his age) would be appreciated.

I believe this to be an 1860s and he looks to be in his 50s.

I also believe the image to date from the 1860s, but would estimate the man to be in his 40s.
I would also like to point out the photo above is a reverse (back to front) image. All the buttons on his clothing are on the left, when they should be on the right.
