Sleuths wanted!

Hello,

Hoping some of you sleuths might have better luck than me on this search. I'm trying to find any history relating to a Henry Edward Seymour. I have only found him in the 1861 census RG9/2626/97 p 23. He is listed as Surgeon, born 1822 Manchester. He is married to Mary Ann. His daughter is Clara, born 1855 East Indies (?). I think there may be a DNA link to this family but I've not maanged to find any birth, marriage, census or immigration info other than 1861. Can anyone help please?

I have, yes! It is Amy's lineage I am trying to trace back. There's a possible marriage in 1862 Swansea for Henry Edward Seymour marrying Elizabeth Coles but can't find any details so may have to order it.

if Clara was born in the East Indies this might be why you are having trouble finding anything Amy is on the 1921 census on FindMyPast with her husband so it might be worth paying to access the image to see if it gives you any further information

using the free search on the 1921 census, Amy C Palliser shows as born Liverpool 1878.

I'd seen the 1871 census and thought it a good possibility. What put me off was that Elizabeth's place of birth was listed as cardiff. Probably worth me buying the marriage cert from 1862. Amy did marry john palliser. Some how the name Smith is also connected (written on the back of her photo). Her father is listed as Henry edward seymour, Surgeon. Amy was in and out of the workhouse and gave her daughters up for adoption. I have a close DNA connection to Amy's descendent but can't figure it out. Through DNA I know the location is Orrell nr Wigan around 1860 which is why I'm trying to figure out Amy's ancestry.

Henry Edward can't be her biological father. Who is John, gas fitter, named on Amy's baptism? Perhaps that's where the DNA connection comes in?
