Stark/Watts/Mummery - North Shields/ Scotland

I'm looking for further information on my ancestors.

My Grandfather was Peter Watts Mummery Stark, born in North Shields in 1890.

He was the son of John Stark b1859 in North Shields.  His mother's name was Ann, but I am unsure of her surname. I guess there is likely to be a Watts or Mummery connection, but also possibly a Robson connection.

John Stark had a large family, with at least 8 children, all born in North Shields.

John's Father was a James Stark b 1823 in Scotland (Edinburgh or Fife) and mother was Margaret Fleming b Edinburgh 1835

James Stark had 9 children, all born in North Shields except the eldest Margaret who was born in South Shields in 1849.

The name Mummery is a bit thin on the ground in North Shields, but they can all be traced to two brothers.

The original Peter Watts Mummery I have was born 1805 in Dover.   He had a son by the same name christened 20 July 1834 in Southwold, Suffolk.
This one married an Elizabeth Nesham on 8 Feb 1859 at Christ Church, Tynemouth.  Elizabeth is part of my line.  This Peter also had a brother James who married Elizabeth's sister Alice Ann.  Peter was probably a mariner and died sometime between 1863 and 1871.  Elizabeth remarried.
They had two children Thomas Mummery and an Ann Robson Mummery.  I knew that Ann married a John in the March quarter of 1885 at Tynemouth.  I did not know his name although I have just seen a comment that he was probably John Starks.  This note also said born 1859 and in Newcastle.

I'm not sure where the Robson name comes from but suspect that it is Elizabeth's maternal grandmother.

That's solved that little mystery.

I've only just recently started on tracing the family tree, and none of my living stark relatives seemd to know where the Mummery or Watts came from.

The sight of the STARK surname has me asking if you have any one called Jane Stark Miller in your tree please? Its been suggested she was born in Corfu in NY USA still waiting for a cert to verify that one.

To the best of my knowledge, none of the Stark family crossed the pond.

Some of my ancestors siblings who originated in Fife in Scotland may have done so, but none of the records I have show such a link.

Re Stark in NY,  - a distant relative ( I have both Stark and Kellock ancestry) Margaret Stark Kellock, was born in Brooklyn in 1854 and died in 1922 at Little Falls, Herkima NY.  She married John Grassick b abt 1855 in Scotland.  I have no details of any of their children.

My Mum was Jane Stuart Stark born at Spittal Berwick upon tweed
 Her Great grandfather was Robert Stark born 1827 East Lothian he married Elizabeth Shepherd from Haddington
they had nine children
mums grandfather married May Jane Gilroy from Wooler they had 16 children

Walter Stark was my grandfather born Tweedmouth
could your Starks be the same ones as mine with as many children they could be

I dont know of any connection from my branch of the Starks with Berwick upon tweed.

My line hailed from Kinghorn in Fife, and my GGGF settled on Tyneside, missing out the Berwick area.
