Thank you so much shanreagh. You have the right time frame but I can’t access findmypast records with my particular Ancestry subscription to see Sarah’s emigration. Are parents mentioned?
Sarah is quite possibly from Co. Derry aka Londonderry.
I can access irishgenealogy so had a look at that birth. Possibly her.

The best thing is for the arrival in the US to be found.  I did not look for this.  Sometimes it does say who they are intending to stay with.

Sometimes there is a contact person at each end which might help.

I have found a copy of the shipping list for this Sarah Waters on the Circassia on my public library Ancestry copy.  If you have a personal copy you should be able to find it.  She is one of 11 or 12 young women who embarked at Londonderry to become domestic servants in the US.

What is the earliest sighting you have of Sarah in the US?

ETA Is it her marriage to Harwood in 1905?

Yes, her marriage in 1905. But now, I will look for her in 1900.

Here is the incoming passenger list. They have the last name transcribed as "Walters". Destination might be to be Philadelphia?

Great, RJ. This must be the correct Sarah as the age and the year agree with later censuses. Looks like journey was from Londonderry to Phila, short for Philadelphia.
Thanks so much for sending this.
