Death/Marriage of Martha Ann Leacock, possibly North Dakota
« on: Thursday 22 September 22 20:32 BST (UK) »
Martha Ann Leacock was born Oct 3, 1873 in Strawmore, Parish of Ballynascreen, Co. Derry, Ireland to John Leacock/Laycock and Mary Ann Hanna. Nothing further is found for Martha Ann but wondering if she went to North Dakota, as did her brother Robert who died June 23, 1937 in New England, North Dakota or her brother Henry who died Oct 22, 1950 in Fargo, North Dakota or her brother Hugh who died June 2, 1973 in Cando, North Dakota.
No marriage is found in Ireland for Martha Ann. Her brother Alexander died Jan 17, 1917 in Belgium (war) and her brother William John died 1914 in France.
Thanks for any help

Is she on the Irish 1901 census?  If not -  have you looked for any marriage in Ireland?

Have you looked for any US immigration/marriage/census records

Have you considered she may have died in infancy & looked for a death in Ireland?

I have looked for a marriage and a death in Ireland and didn't find any. She is not on the 1901 and 1911 Irish censuses with her parents or elsewhere.

That is why I considered emigration. So next question was where might she go. There is an online tree that says she died 1909 but no exact date and no place.
There is a Frank Waddington who died 1936 in Falconer, New York, wife Martha Ann but could be any Martha Ann and there is no date of death for Martha Ann on findagrave. Frank was born in England and emigrated 1912 to New York. Martha A. born 1875 which is close.
I have looked for a marriage in the USA without any luck. Or a death.

I have exchanged several messages with one of the tree owners. None of the others have any info on Martha Ann other than her birth. At the moment, my best guess is North Dakota and second best Falconer, New York where Martha Ann Waddington is sometimes referred to as Hannah. Frank and Hannah's son Frank was born in Otley, England May 26, 1911 which would mean that Frank and Hannah probably married in England and this could well be the wrong person. Frank Sr. died in 1936 as per findagrave and there is no info on Martha A.'s death.

I wanted to phone the cemetery but can't find a phone number. A couple who left flowers are not receiving messages.

I have just found Frank and Martha's emigration in 1910 which does not correlate with the birth of son Frank in England in 1911.

See freebmd re Waddington marriage 1904.  Quite a few Martha Ann Laycock births in Yorkshire so if your roots are Ireland I doubt there is a connection.
