Bransty Quarry
« on: Saturday 24 September 22 20:46 BST (UK) »
In the 1871 Census my 2 x great grandfather has his occupation as Quarry worker at "Bransty works"
I have been unable to find any information about this quarry other than it might have been called "Bransty Rocks" - though I am not really sure about that name.  Does anyone have any information about this quarry please?  I would be very grateful

Thank  you so much for this information Kay.  I know quite a lot more from what you've written and can now progress further by searching the newspaper articles you've pointed me towards.  How you found it all so quickly is amazing - I am very grateful. buona

A slightly later map shows "old quarry" in the vicinity.

Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.
