Hi
Yes, when applying on their website
Where was the event registered? Click on "Outside the United Kingdom and registered by the British Forces, Consul or High Commission"

Should be straightforward!
That index ref was found on findmypast, in British Armed Forces and Overseas Banns and Marriages.
Good luck!
John

I find it quite possible that there are relatives remaining in Germany, however, both of his children were girls and, at least to my knowledge were single when they left England, so probably married over there. There are a few Forresters listed, so you never know!

Thank you TreeSpirit! Yes, this is them! The second lady is her daughter, who may still be alive so I'm not sure if I can confirm her name on here, but this appears to be them. Thank you!  :)

Do you have a link to this piece of information, is there other years that can be checked? If Charles wasn't listed there, then maybe he was deceased by that point, or they had split up?

There are a couple of earlier ones i.e.:
https://wiki.genealogy.net/Hannover/Adressbuch_1953
https://wiki.genealogy.net/Hannover/Adressbuch_1960

Unfortunately they are in DjVu format and I can’t get it to work via my IrfanView. Maybe some one else has more luck, but it seems as if the images are thumbnails only

Their marriage certificate arrived this morning, and stated Luise's age as 26 (i.e. born abt. 1921/1922), and her father as Karl Walter Trinks, who was still alive and his occupation listed as a glove maker.

I still can't find a birth record for her, but I have found a potential record of her parent's marriage.

10 May 1920: Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany
Kurt Trinks, born 9 December 1889, parents: Eduard Friedrich Martin Trinks; Johanne Minna Trinks
Marie Martha Allewat, born 13 December 1896, parents: Heinrich Friedrich Christian Allewelt; Pauline Amalie Marie Allewelt

The original record is in German, so this is only what the transcript provides. I don't know whether these translations are correct, though.

I think this fits, as Luise's was born c. 1921/22, as well as the correct father's name, Kurt.

This Kurt died in Halle on 7 December 1949, so would've been alive at the time of Luise's marriage. The only problem with these records is that Luise married in Detmold, North Rhine-Westphalia, about 150 miles from Halle, I'm not sure if she wed there because it was the nearest British base (they were married in a Church of England ceremony) or that the people in the records above aren't her parents.

Does anyone think those are the right parents for Luise, can anyone help me find a birth record for her?  ???

I currently live at 66 Chester Road and I’m looking into the possibility of getting more details about family that lived here before property was purchased by my current landlord. Also interested if maybe your relatives still live at 64 Chester Road. I know that the elderly lady that lives there is called Peggy. Thx.
