Pesky 1921 James Robson & Margaret Ellen 24 Eighton Terrace, Springwell
« on: Friday 07 October 22 16:43 BST (UK) »
Hi Guys
James Robson was our GGF & his penultimate residence was 24 Eighton Terrace, Springwell.I think the house is still there unlike Springwell Terrace that was cleared. Locals referred to the area as Springwell, even tho it was Wrekinton to many & our dad referred to the area as Gateshead 9 (He was born on Springwell Terrace & remembered a community even tho all he talked about was BlacklocK's Garage.(Too young to go in the Pub on the corner)
James was miner & cycled to a pit in Sunderland 1 or 3......Bit too far ?
On the 1921 I expected  James, Margaret Ellen & her Mother Mary Edgar, Irene, James their son, Joseph L . Guess what? There really is 1 more this time.....No idea as Pat came along in 1928.  Who makes it up to 7?
Cheers Bill B

Since we ALL have to pay to view the 1921 census entries, perhaps you could "bite the bullet" for yourself.   :-X

Who makes it up to 7?

You can find out by doing a search on the 1921 census.

Simply enter 'Eighton Terrace' in the address box and the name Mary Edgar in the 'other household member' box at the bottom of the search page.

Leave everything else blank.

Your result will give the names of the six other people in the house  :) One of whom is not called Robson.

I'll leave it to you to find out the answer  :)

I don't get the full picture of everyone there. I was a member of Find my Past but not now.  Ancestry  might have it one day

AND - if you had an FindMyPast membership you would still have to pay £3.15  - whilst non-members would pay £3.50 to obtain a copy of the household entry.

ALTERNATIVELY - you could visit the TNA and access it for free  8)  Plus Central Library, Manchester and National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth.

The free search is for street or person. So when I key in it gives 3 first names & says plus 4 others.
So I know 2 + mother in law + 3 children leaving 1 unknown. Just curious to find out.
The other thing is Find My Past calls it Springwell as did the locals but Springwell village was nearer to Sunderland & as I said ggf cycled to a pit there. ! or 3 I think
