Missing Grandfather and missing will
« on: Tuesday 01 November 22 12:06 GMT (UK) »
Dear Friends

My grandfather disappeared to Canada at the time of the 1929 Wall Street crash. He lived in Montreal Canada. He died in 1975 whilst on holiday at Daytona Beach, Florida, USA.

How can I find out if he had a Will and how can I get a copy of the Will?

My thanks for any help - I am based in the UK

Hi,

There is also an obit in the Florida papers, Daytona Beach Morning Journal, 8 March 1975 page 3,
column 2, 5th obit down.
https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=OWslULmvb_UC&dat=19750308&printsec=frontpage&hl=en

A native from Driffield Yorkshire, retired Vice President of Bathurst Paper Co. in Montreal, a visitor
since November*.
*A number of retired Canadians spend winters in the southern USA, and are commonly called "snowbirds".
It also mentions his address, 3601 South Atlantic Ave.. Have you googled that location, great spot.

Have you been able to obtain his death certificate.

Looks like you will need a copy of his death record before you can request a search for a will:

Peter had that link back in July, Sandra linked that post in reply 1. I was curious if he had
obtained the death cert. and if he was able to move forward with it.

appointment of G.T. Cockerill adm. Vice President with photo.
