I've now managed to track them down in 1861 in Cosgrove, Potterspury, Northants.

This shows a younger brother William Bruce PARISH age 11 born Oxfordshire so perhaps that is where the were in 1851 - a bit vague to track them down on the census though! The next child George age 6 was born in Birmingham then Arthur age 2 born Cosgrove.

In 1881 the parents seem to be in Roade, Northants now with a daughter age 22 born Cramborne, Dorset.  In 1881, John is in Watford, Herts living with his HAZELL in laws.

Its seems they didn't stay in one place for long!  Thank goodness for 1837.com and LDS 1881 census or I would never have found them!!

Thank you for your interest.
