I've just had an email from funeral directors in NZ who verified Jessie was cremated and her death registered by her son * Cruickshank
I cannot thank you and everyone who have been so so helpful in helping me.
All I have to do now is find a Marriage gor Jessie to John Robert Johnson

The NZ marriage index of that era is NOT available to us here, online.  So if you're not in NZ, then you'll need to rely on the goodwill of someone visiting a repository here, to view the microfiche record. (Index info only.)   
[Unless there is a record on an NZSG cd or similar, which a helper here may have ? ]

Yes, that is the the husband of Jessie.

Only goes to 1956.

Have to point out that records from the 1960's are classed as non-historic, and there are a few more hoops to jump through in order to purchase them. 

From memory (when I had to go this route) you have to know the date of the wedding and where it took place.

Glad to hear that the Jessie that was put down as a male was the right lass.  I must admit it did throw me, thinking I had the wrong person.
