Hi Sandstone

A little further information, which also serves to confirm we have the correct Christina.   ;)

A travel record (@ ancestry.com) for passengers returning from UK to New Zealand, has the following info >

"Rangitoto" (NZ Shipping Line) - bound for Wellington, New Zealand - departed UK 12 April 1957,

Ticket # 1942 :
EAGLESON - David - retired - (dob.  = 25-08-1873)
EAGLESON - Mrs Christina (dob.  = 2-12-1889)
... both NZ Citizens ( travelling on NZ passports)
... their last address given was : c/- Mrs M G ARTHUR, 58 Braewick Road, Lerwick

     ~  Lu

added :   Another less detailed list (ex NZ Immigration - found at FamilySearch site), confirms Mrs Christina EAGLESON's birthplace was Scotland.

At the "findagrave" website, there is a record for Christina Ann Eagleson (submitted by a volunteer "researcher") which gives her burial place as "Pye's Pa Memorial Park", Tauranga.??

At Pye's Pa.

Edited:  Don't know about the picture of grave, I think it says 2nd May 1984, the age is right, but known as Annie on grave??

Thanks for that, KHP.    :)

David EAGLESON, with first wife Margaret (aka Maggie) and daughter Elizabeh Jane, also come up on that same search page.

[I'd taken the "Tuapiro Cemetery" from the NZSG transcriptions ... but maybe this cemetery is better known as "Pye's Pa"  ??? ]

     ~  Lu

PS:  KHP ... yes, seems Christina was also known as "Annie"   ;)  "Standstone" made mention of ("Annie")  in original post.

Hi Sandstone

If you have access ...there's a smallish number of trees at the ancestry.com site - for David EAGLESON (d. NZ 1963) ... one of which ("granny ..." ) mentions  "a wife - named as Christine -  1910-1970 ?? ".
The owner may (or may not) have more information ??

[Caution advised with these trees - many are inaccurate / with repeated inaccuracies in others.  ;) ]

[David EAGLESON was reportedly born in Co. Down, Northern Ireland. ]
