Richard Thomas - 1861 Hairdresser
« on: Monday 02 January 23 17:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi!

I'm wondering if someone can help me.

I've searched for William Roberts for years and I've just found a potential connection to him, Richard Thomas?

There's a census for 1861 with:

Richard Thomas / Head / 40 / Hairdresser born in Ruthin, Denbighshire

Catherine Thomas / Wife / 40

Ann Thomas / Niece / 25 / House Servant

William Roberts / Apprentice / 15 / Hairdressing Apprentice

William died when he was 16 years old and I have always thought he was a tailor, but then I found this and wondered if there is any way that I can find out where Richard and William worked? If it was a shop in their town? Or if there's pictures etc?

I'm soooo close, yet so far!!

Thank you  :)

Do you have a copy of his death cert?  It should show his occupation to ensure you have the right 1861 entry

Does the 1861 birthplace match your William Roberts?

1861 address is just "High St"

I think you need to first establish that you have the right William Roberts before trying to find photos etc

Hi!

Yes, William was born on the Highstreet and then when he was a toddler he was at Water Street! He was born in 1846? His death certificate only states what his dads occupation was?

I'm at abit of a loss!
