Dorset Family History Society is hosting an on-line Zoom talk on Tuesday 17th January 2023 from 7.30p.m. - 9.15p.m. (approx.)
ON-LINE SPEAKER is IAN WALLER with a talk entitled ‘RAILWAY ANCESTORS’.
Ian talks through Railway records and what we can discover from them. Railway companies were one of the largest employers and many left a legacy of staff records. The talk examines how those records help piece together the career of a railway worker using a variety of records up to nationalisation in 1948.
Ian Waller is a retired genealogist with over 30 years experience in English research and now an author and speaker. He is a Fellow of SoG and AGRA and has taught Family History at both basic and advanced levels in various centres around Bedfordshire and Herefordshire.
Zoom sign-in from 7.15 pm (UK time).
Society Members who have consented to receive information by e-mail will find a meeting invitation link, and how to donate the voluntary £3 admission, in the E-News sent about 4 days before the meeting.
Those who do not receive E-News, or who are not Society Members, are welcome to join this meeting and should access the talk by emailing
liaison@dorsetfhs.org.uk from the week before. An invitation will be sent out with sign in details of how to sign in to Zoom from 7.15pm on the night for a 7.30pm start.
