1881 he is a boarder at 62, Lovaine Place, Newcastle upon Tyne St Andrew
A seed merchant (agrees with later occupation)

Indexed as FORTH on FindMyPast.  Haven’t looked at ancestry

Electoral rolls give 1871 address of 25 Westgate Street, Gloucester  House & Shop
Census at that address has two people described as Assistants.
So perhaps they were having a holiday somewhere

Gloucestershire Chronicle 20 May 1871

William Dobbins, a youth, on Wednesday evening had beaten his horse, drawing a van until it ran away down Westgate street, and was then met by Mr Fortt jun(io)r who was riding a pony up the street……

On April 10th 1871 here was a grand fancy dress ball in Bath. Over 1000 people went and the catering was done by Fortts of Milsom Street. So perhaps they had called everyone home to help and were far too busy to be bothered with censuses.  (Although census night was the 2nd April, but it’s a thought. Have you found the Milsom street Fortts in the census?).

I know Who the Milson Street Fortt's are. A book and museum Show was done on them around 2013 in Bath. Basically it is Robert Fortt's Seniors brothers decedents and my 2nd Great gran Father would of likely been there. My employed hundreds of people

Yes, I assumed you knew who they were, but I was offering them up as a reason the Gloucester crowd were not at home.

It depends on Marthas age when they married as to if they had any children 1904-1906.
So unless you have the M/C it is also hard to know if Martha was a Widow and any children would have her maiden name on birth reg.
I cant see any 1904-1904 with mmn Sinclair.
