1861 Rhosllanerchrugog
« on: Sunday 15 January 23 18:12 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I am wondering if anyone out there can help, I have a family who I can find in most census, 1851, 71, 81, 91 but for the life of me I can't seem to find them in 1861.
The 1871 census gives me Edward Davies aged 45, his wife Hannah aged 41.
Children as follows
Thomas 22
Edward 17
Joseph 13
John 11
Jonathan aged 5, this Jonathan was named after a son they lost in 1864 who would have been around 10 in the 1861 census.
There was another son possibly at home named David who was born 1847.
No doubt I have just overlooked but a fresh pair of eyes would be really helpful if anyone has time.
many thanks for reading this, hopefully it makes sense

Hi Max

There re a few pages missing for the wider Wrexham area so they could be on those. I'll have a good look for you later if no one else has come up with any thing.

This is the only one that links to the 1851 and 1871 entries. Could the older children be with relatives?

They did have a daughter ,Sarah, in 1859. Unless there were two Edward and Hannah Davies of the same age in Rhos.

Just seen that while my Edward and Hannah were married in 1847, there was another Edward and Hannah married in 52, and to top it off both Hannahs were Griffiths before marriage so they could be parents of John and Sarah that has been found.
Thank you all by the way, it really is appreciated.

Was Hannah related to a Richard Griffiths?

There is a Thomas Davies, aged 13, a servant, in the house of a Richard Griffiths, 54, farmer at Tan y Clawdd, Morton Below

Sarah Davies, aged 2, died in Dec 1861

Rhosllanerchrug, burials
19 Dec 1861 Sarah Davies, Pen y Cae, aged 2.

Did the other Edward and Hannah live in Pen y Cae?  It does merge with Rhos.

On the census for 51 and 71 it just says Rhos and Moreton Above...what a pickle
