It's always beneficial to attach links for the benefit of others.

Here's the 1911 census.
House 3 in Cloneen (Ballinaclash, Wicklow).

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003647245/

It says married 20 years, but there doesn't seem to be a marriage record. According to the birth records of some of the later children, their mother's maiden name was EYERS.

Hi,

Here is a link to a Rootschat from 2010 about this family.

The original poster of that chat, is the son of James, the baby in the 1911 Census

Cheers

Sorry but they are proving very difficult to find.
I'm beginning to think the Eayres aren't catholic and maybe that is why

Do you think that is the right death for Fanny/Frances - aged 85 yrs?
There is a marriage - 1861 Cork
Luke Davis and Frances Diana Herbert. I would think that is the death you have so not the right Frances.

Here's the link for the 1866 marriage - on 27 August in Rathdrum RC Church.

Could the marriage have been in England?

The 'FreeBMD' website search facility brings back a possible match on names registered at Dewsbury, Dec 1889, Vol 9b, Page 1010, two of the names being Richard Davis and Fanny Eyres.
