Robert marriott derbyshire

Hi can anybody help me please. I have a Marriage for my great great grandparents  Mary Ann Marriott  30 yrs and 28 yrs old  John watson married 1878 in sheffield.  Mary Ann father being Robert marriott. I found a Robert marriott in 1818 born eyam Derbyshire  his father is William Marriott. But i also found a Robert Marriott from leicester  born bit later ĥowever  in 1891 census and i think 1881 i have mary ann Marriott and John Watson at Tapton hill  sheffield it says she was born in ashover derbyshire but her age does not match marriage details .and then i have a problem of  my family know they lived there but theres no mention of my great grandmother Edith with them born 1886 in any census . Something must be wrong somwhere with my information  i been given . So i have a few problems here. Any help would be good please.

Also im trying to find john watson parents it says he was 28 yr old in 1878  it says on their marriage certificate. And the census says he was born in sheffield his farher was also john watson it says on marriage certificate. But when i try to find him there are 2 or 3 john watsons born sheffield. One being born 1852 and another in 1849 the one in 1849 was married to Mary Broomhead  from derbyshire being a landlady  its so confusing . Where was Edith born?  Ecclesall Bierlow is in Yorkshire

Probably best break this down into sections. To start, John and Mary Ann had (at least) 3 children:

WATSON, EDITH       MARRIOTT

and John Henry (1879) and Mary (1881).

A possible explanation for Edith not being with her family on the 1891 census is that she was actually a patient in the local hospital when the census was taken:

Her estimated year of birth on the 1881 census is 1847; her estimated year of birth from her marriage certificate is 1848. These are very close and people often did not know their exact ages.

The 1861 has a 14yr old Mary Ann Marriott b Derbyshire working as a servant in Sheffield

There is a marriage in Belper 1843 for a Robert Marriott but 4 females on same page.  Belper was the RD for Alfreton which is Mary's birthplace in 1881

A possible 1871 census for John Watson (for some reason, I cannot find it on FamilySearch):

John Watson, aged 36 (born c.1835), file smith and bird preserver, born in Ranmoor, Sheffield.
Maria Watson, aged 34 (born c.1837), born in Barlow, Derbyshire.
John Watson, aged 18 (born c.1853), file smith, born in Hallam, Yorkshire.

also Ann Watson (born c.1858) and Henry (born c.1868).

The family is living in Ecclesall Bierlow. The names and occupations match (both John and his father, John Sr., are described as file forgers on John's marriage certificate), but it is a rather common surname, so cannot be 100% it is the correct John.

Thank you all . While searching has anyone come across where john and mary ann watsons other children mary
And john henry watson he was born 1881 but i not found a marriage or a death for him or his sister mary. They on census 1891
at tapton hill address sheffield.

Talking about Robert marriott i have found one who married mary stevenson 1843 i think it was in derbyshire. She was born in nottingham .i need to start again i think .. but thank you all so much for your replys  some i found myself too others are new info but its all a big help kind regards
